Description
A general-purpose solvent thinner originally formulated for the Sericol Nylo nylon screen ink system. The base chemistry — 2-butoxyethyl acetate with light aromatic naphtha — is shared across most solvent-based pad printing and screen printing inks, which makes this a versatile thinner well beyond its original ink range.
Use it for:
- Pad printing — thinning solvent-based pad inks across most major systems (Marabu Tampa, Coates, Teca-Print, Inkcups, ITW Trans Tech)
- Nylon screen printing — Sericol Nylo system and equivalents on nylon webbing, bags, tents, packs, tactical gear, parachutes, umbrellas, sports equipment
- Solvent-based screen inks on plastics — vinyl, ABS, polycarbonate, polystyrene
- Industrial coating shops — flow / levelling adjustment for solvent-based coatings, lacquers and clear coats
- Sign and decal trade — thinning solvent-based vinyl adhesives and clear coats
- Equipment cleaning and degreasing — squeegees, screens, pads, plates, mixing equipment, spray guns
Chemistry: 2-butoxyethyl acetate (EGBEA) + light aromatic naphtha. Fast-to-medium evaporation rate. Good solvency for a wide range of polyester, acrylic and vinyl resin systems.
Specs:
- Size: 5 litre metal can

Cross-compatibility: Suitable as a substitute thinner for most solvent-based screen and pad printing ink systems with similar resin chemistry. Always run a small compatibility test against a swatch before bulk substitution in production.
Safety: Flammable liquid and vapour. Use in well-ventilated areas. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames. Wear gloves and safety glasses. Refer to SDS for full handling and PPE requirements.
