Amaco Pearlescent Brushable Glazes bring subtle shimmer and dynamic movement to your work with this new collection of Cone 5/6 glazes.
Pearlescent glazes are shimmery mattes with movement. These fluid satin glazes create a pearly sheen with subtle micro-crystalline effects that add depth and dimension to your work.
Completely intermixable, they offer endless possibilities for custom colours and effects—and can be layered with other AMACO Cone 5/6 glazes, including the Potter’s Choice series, to create even more surface variation.
Food Safe: Tested for lead and cadmium release in accordance with ASTM C738-94.
Application Tips:
- 3 brush coats recommended.
- If you apply the glaze heavily, 2 coats will also work.
- Underapplication will result in a dry glaze with no crystals.
- Overapplication will cause a rough appearance.
- Can also lead to heavier flow.
Layers well over AMACO Celadons, other Potter's Choice, and Satin Matte glazes. Glaze layering fired results may run if paired with a runny glaze. Apply receding coats when layering to help with runniness of final fired result. We recommend testing any layering combination before applying it to a full ceramic piece.
Fire to cone 6 when used alone or layered for results similar to AMACO imagery.
Shake well before use. For best results, do not thin the glaze; apply 3 coats with a brush to Cone 04 bisque. (Let the glaze dry between coats.)
Glaze fire to Cone 5-6. Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch of glaze.
